A Child Friendly Church
Children are not 'the future of our church' they are a valuable part of our congregation right now. Children are welcomed, encouraged, and listened to. We are blessed with weekly Sunday Schools at both churches and with passionate and creative leaders.
We strive to create a church where children and people of all ages and abilities may explore their faith, feel connected to God, and share in the sacredness of community. Because of this we do a couple of special things. We light two Christ candles at the beginning of the service. One candle stays in the sanctuary while the other goes with the children as they continue church in Sunday School. We bless one another when the children leave the sanctuary. Children and adults are present for all Baptisms and all are welcome to share in Holy Communion. Most importantly we take time to listen and encourage one another regardless of age or ability. This is what makes Grace United not just "child friendly" but a community for all ages.
